about me
Born and living in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Denise Flesch grew up visiting museums, attending operas and classical concerts. The contrasts of light in theaters, paintings and photos became an intriguing subject. All those memories made her interest about light (chiaroscuro) grow stronger and when she enrolled at the College of Fine Arts it became a constant ossesion on her research and art work.
After graduating in 2007, she joined an art collective called Prensa formed with engravers and based in a huge studio in Pompéia, São Paulo. The group worked in collective exhibitions, cultural projects and held an annual exhibition in their own space for guest artists, selling Artworks.
In 2009 after the art collective split Denise worked as a freelancer designer, making advertising and illustrations pieces. She worked at several advertising agencies as a creative designer. After working with scenography she was hired to work at the airline company Avianca, where she worked on the creation of digital ads and on the company's website. She created the company's social media and expanded her field by creating the sponsorship, cultural and social incentives department. In 2012 she decided to quit her job and returned to work in her studio where she works today on printmaking, painting and designing.
